Amrutha Anand
Amrutha is an art educator with an interdisciplinary approach. She teaches art practice guided by her training in psychoanalytic methods, including courses on the self, body and community through symbols, abstractions, and object making. Committed to making artistic practice relatable, accessible, and relevant, the courses Amrutha designs, supervises, and teaches focus on real-life contexts, everyday materials, and conscious practices. She develops art curricula that emphasises community, culture and environment while exploring aspects of self and the body. She also trains art educators for facilitation that provides opportunities for inclusive expression and communication across social divisions. Her pedagogy, which emphasises processes rather than results, aims to cultivate sustainable and long-term freedom in self-expression.
