Rajshree Gupta born and brought up in Delhi, India is an emerging artist of modern contemporary art world. She studied her BFA at College of Art, Delhi, India and MFA at Wimbledon College of Art, University of the Arts, London, where she has been rewarded degree with Merit. Her work has been reviewed by United Kingdom’s prestigious Wellcome trust’s for Axis Web’s MAstars profile for the year 2014. She has participated in different exhibitions in India, London, and Singapore.
Her practice is tangible. She tries to connect with her viewers in the most humanly way possible. She believes that her drawings and films, which are heartfelt accounts of her mother’s life, are not to entertain but to provoke thought and to stand as a work of art.
In her current role as an Artist Educator & Researcher at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Delhi, she is constantly trying to define and articulate a new approach to museum teaching offering people of all ages a deep and meaningful experience of interpreting artworks through strategically facilitated programs.
Knowing the collection intimately, she has developed various educational programs in collaboration with the wider education team. Methods include art talks as well as workshops where students are encouraged to respond to the art creatively.
